- From Howard Sergeant to Roger Elkin; third batch for Leek Arts Festival's poetry competition arrived; issue of Prospice with HS's 'Poets and Painters' was published, HS found it surprisingly good, Elizabeth Bartlett thought it better than that; HS again rails at RE's Prospice co-editor John Green calling him incompetent, offers magazine advice; HS offered RE chance to review Barrie Wade's book; HS speaks about his workshop for the Winged Fellowship in Chichester, jokes about Leek; HS still writing children's poems, making pamphlet called 'A Question of Respect' in response to the Suffolk Poetry Society's request for a reading; HS and Jean will be travelling by car to the Leek Arts Festival Poetry Competition; HS invited to adjudicate The Open University's poetry competition of past and present members, as well as the Birmingham and Midland Institute; RE missed Bill Turner at last event, HS extols his virtues, tells RE to get something by him for Prospice; Outposts leaflet enclosed; HS tells RE to get a collection out under the Aquila imprint, and get Green to send a review copy, and get his affairs in order.
