The Hull History Centre has many other records relating to the citadel or garrison, which can be located with the Borough records such as the bench books (C BRB) and letters (C BRL), the town's Garrison Committee (C TCM/114) and records from the Hull Board of Health (C BHH). At U DX130 are Martin Beckman's records relating to coastal defences whilst at U DX250 are transcripts of documents for the citadel. A print showing the citadel can be found at C DIEW/1. Other records, such as the Quarter Sessions (C CQ) may also contain useful information. Muster rolls and other documents, such as those relating to appointments, can be found at The National Archives in Kew. Census records will also list those residing in the citadel. Useful reference books within the library include J.H. Hirst's 'The Castle of Kingston Upon Hull' and Howes & Foreman's 'Town & Gun' (1999).
