Andrew Marvell Jackson, known as 'The Colonel' began working as a solicitor in Hull in 1874. His brother, Thomas Jackson, known as 'The Doctor' joined him as a partner in 1887 where the firm became known as Andrew Jackson & Co., the first to use the term '& Co.'
