Admin History:

F. Atkins & Company canister works was established around 1900 on what became Devon Street, Hessle Road, Dairycoates (later Gipsyville). Atkins joined 3 other companies in 1921 to form Metal Box. Later the works were moved to Sculcoates Lane. In 1989 the MB Group (as Metal Box was by then known) had merged with Caradon to create MB-Caradon
