David Waddington Sissons (1843-1925) In Aug 1859, aged 16, he entered the counting house of his father, Mr Thomas Sissons Jnr, then the sole proprietor of the firm, his grandfather Mr Thomas Sissons senior being still alive though retired from the business. David was the brother of Thomas Hall Sissons and both became partners in Sissons Brothers & Co in 1876. This was formalized from 1 Jan 1880 in an agreement dated 30 Dec 1880, and applied to the businesses in both Hull and Barton-on-Humber. This partnership continued until David Waddington Sissons retired in 1920.
