fl.1862-1926. Born in 1862, Nichol was the school's music master during the 1890s and composed the school hymn, 'Carmen Hullense' possibly for the opening of the new building on Leicester Street. He gave up his civil engineering degree to pursue a career in music. He wrote many hymns, one of which, 'We've a Story to tell the Nations' is still sung today
