Wold Road school was opened on 18 April 1939 as an Infant and Junior School with accommodation for 400 pupils. The Infant and Junior departments were separated in January 1953 and accommodated in different buildings on the same site. In September 1969, with the general reorgansiation of Hull schools, the school was split into Wold Road Primary School and Wold Junior High School. In July 1988 the 9-13 year olds left their building so that it could be used by the Primary School from September 1988.
