Admin History:

Coupass Hawksworth was a coal trimmer at Hull Docks so was exempt from being called for service in the Second World War. He was also a baggage man for Hull KR in the Millward era.

Robert Hawksworth served in the Navy in the Second World War. On his return to Hull after the war he returned to working at Priestman Brothers where he stayed until they closed in the 1980s.

Betty Hawksworth worked as a nurse at Western General Hospital on Anlaby Road, Hull.

Items relate to Coupass Hawksworth, his son, Robert Hawksworth, and Robert's wife, Betty Hawksworth. Includes notebooks of Coupass Hawksworth, which were initially used to keep a tally of medical costs of children (including his son, Robert Hawksworth who was hospitalised with diphtheria), but later used to document the Second World War air raids in Hull, and shipping berths at Hull docks.
