Reference No:
C DFTF/1/47
Dates:
3 Aug 1822
Description:
Letter to Avison Terry from Edward Stillingfleet. Avison Terry just back from Irish tour. Edward William Stillingfleet very upset about the way Mr Scott has usurped the Ferriby Lectureship so soon after its founder (Sir H. Etherington) had died. Clearly Edward William Stillingfleet had expected it. 'Mr. Scott is said to have very great influence over his friends in Hull & its neighbourhood: in fact, to rule pretty absolutely.'
