Description:: This play was written by Winifred Holtby and Noel Brinton for the Graduate Drama Production at Somerville College, Oxford. Winifred Hotlby entered Somerville College in 1917 following a period of service in France in the First World War. It was at Somerville that she met Vera Brittain (1914 author of Testament of Youth) and after an initial period of antagonism (fictionalised in Brittains first novel The Dark Tide) the two became close friends and after graduating they moved to London together to pursue literary careers.
