Records relating to Hull Corporation trams and tramways

Dates:
1902-1906

Description

Admin History:
Although the origins of Hull's tram system lay in the horse drawn cars of 1872, it was not until 1897 that the decision was made to electrify the system. By the end of 1900 these trams would be running on Anlaby, Hessle, Holderness and Beverley Roads and Spring Bank. The last trams ceased to operate in 1945, when they were replaced by trolley buses. The last depot on Hessle Road closed that same year.
