The diary was written by Mr Craft during the D Day Invasion but was not found until after his death in 1998. Along with the diary were notes written by Mr Craft fifty years after the landings.
Description:
Copy of the diary of Leading Signalman Norman G. Croft written during the first days of the D Day landings [6 Jun 1944-3 Jul 1944] plus additional notes made by Mr Craft fifty years after the events took place. Also includes copy of the entry on the WW2 People's War website, a copy of an article in The Hull Daily Mail May 31 2000 entitled 'Secret diaries of a war hero' two copies of The Daily Mail [7 Jun 1944] and [8 May 1945] and a Hull Daily Mail special publication [4 Jun 1994]. The original diary is now held at the D Day Museum in Portsmouth.
