Nina Doris Doughty, was born in 1916 in Bow, in east London, the second daughter of Richard Thomas Doughty (1883-1958) and Ellen Magney (1886-1969). During the Second World War Nina was an ambulance driver and first aid instructor. In 1944, she married William Albert (Alf) Robson in Essex, and in December 1945 they moved to Hull. Nina Robson was very active within the Townswomen’s Guild movement, becoming Chairman of the East Yorkshire Federation in 1958. She was also very active within other organisations such as the Mother's Union and British Empire Leprosy Relief Association. In 2002, Nina returned to London, 3 years after the death of her husband. She herself died in 2003, in Merton Park.
