Sergeant Frederick Saul R.A. was stationed in Hull during WWII with the H. Sub. Battery 101 E.R.H.G. Rockett A.A. and Officers and NCO's 119 A.A. 2, an anti-aircraft unit defending the docks. Saul was a sergeant in the Royal Artillery and had been in the Territorial Army before the outbreak of the war. Apart from a few weeks stationed at Dover Castle, Saul spent most of the war in Hull.
