- In 1937, 20 Basque children were brought to Hull and stayed at a house in Pearson Park, as refugees from the Spanish Civil War. Vera Mitchell, the compiler of these notes recalled the event although mis-remembered the year it occurred.

- Photocopy of notes made by Vera originally meant for the Hull Daily Mail following an article on the memorial plaque to the children erected in Pearson Park in 2017. Note the name in the letter is different to that indicated on deposit.
