Prominent amongst those involved in the Society were Leah Rosen, who was responsible for running the charity until she left Hull, and Rosalind Marks, who took over its management upon the departure of Leah Rosen. The Society was responsible for organising an annual appeal, the proceeds of which were donated to various projects involving the welfare of blind members of the Jewish Community nation-wide.
