- File contains correspondence of David Lewis as Honorary Secretary of Hull Hebrew Congregation and relates to the proposed construction of a Mikvah, or Jewish ritual baths, at the instigation of Rabbi Osdoba. Includes some copy accounts relating to the building fund for the project dated 2004-2008. Note that the earliest known mikvah in Hull is thought to be 1845, that the Trippett Baths opened by Hull Corporation in 1850 included a first floor mikvah which was used by the Jewish community until Nov 1903, and that the Hull Corporation baths on Holderness Road opened 1898 also included a mikveh which was used until c.1970.
