The Charity Commission was first established under the 1853 Charities Trust Act, and has been modernised throughout the years, with the current organisation set up under the 2006 Charities Act. The Commission was created to approve and regulate charity schemes.
The Hull Trinity House Charity was established by the Corporation of the Hull Trinity House to support needy seafarers and their families. It's origins go back to the late 15th century.
The Sunday School on Beeton Street was erected to serve St. Andrews Church, Southcoates. The school building was lost during World War Two.
St. Philip's was a new parish created in the 1880s. The church was damaged in World War 2 with the parish merging with Christ Church Sculcoates in 1950.
