A published report on a visit to Holland [Netherlands] between 1 and 5 October 1906 by William Shaw Wright (Chairman of the Humber Conservancy Commissioners), William Hammond Bartholomew (Member of the Wrecks, Removal and Works Committee of the Humber Conservancy Commissioners), Captain George Pirie RN (Conservator of the Humber), and Francis Berry (Clerk to the Humber Conservancy Commissioners). The purpose of the visit being to investigate sea protection works undertaken at the mouths of the Rivers Mass and Scheldt, and at other places situate on the Dutch Coast. The report includes diagrams illustrating some of the works inspected by the representatives of the Humber Conservancy. It also provides a general overview of the Port of Rotterdam.
