The volume contains Minutes of Proceedings, and related papers, connected with the progress of the Humber Conservancy Bill through the House of Commons between 11 February and 13 July 1876. This includes copies of correspondence, memoranda, notices, notes, and various supporting maps and plans.
Also included in the volume are petitions both against and in favor of the Bill (pages 301–362), the Minutes of the Corporation of Hull Parliamentary Committee from 10 November 1875 to 28 June 1876. The Minutes of Proceedings of the Commons Select Committee on Private Bills—divided into Minutes of Evidence and Minutes of Speeches—forms the majority of the volume: see pages 363–824.
