Description:

A file containing Pensioner's Life Certificates from individuals in receipt of a pension from the Humber Conservancy Board. Each certificate is certified by either a Magistrate, Commissioner for Oaths, a Police Office (not below the rank of Sergeant), or a Minister of Religion to confirm they are still alive and therefore eligible for continued payments. They are also signed by the pensioner in question who also certifies the amount of pension they are entitled to, and the rate at which it is payable.

Outwards correspondence from the Chief Collector requesting completion of the certificates has been filed at the front of the file.
