Description:: File comprises correspondence between the engineer to the Humber Conservancy Board, Trinity House, London, ship repairers, equipment suppliers, and various shipping companies, regarding the maintenance, overhauling (including specifications) and operation of the Spurn Lightship, particularly its submarine signalling and synchronous wireless fog beacon apparatus. There are lists in the file showing which merchant vessels and trawlers can receive this type of signalling and also particulars of bomb and gunfire explosions, heard at the lightship.
