Description:: The file comprises correspondence between the engineer to the Humber Conservancy Board, and various ship repair companies, regarding the maintenance and repair of the various Whitton lightships operation in the Upper River Humber. Includes specifications for the dry docking and overhaul of the lightships, correspondence regarding the appointment of temporary seamen and night watchmen, and as well as accidents to crew members whilst on duty. Notes a problem in filling vacancies on the lightships because of the Naval requirements during the War.
