- Correspondence between the engineer to the Humber Conservancy Board, the Chief Collector of the Board, and various building companies, regarding the reconstruction (in April 1938), operation, and maintenance of the Chalder Ness Automatic Fog Bell and Tide Gauge Beacon. During foggy conditions, the Light Keeper visited the site to wind up the clock weight for the fog bell (he received an extra payment for these visits). There is a specification and quantities of materials required for the reconstruction of the new steel designed beacon, in the file. The original beacon was constructed in 1885.
