Description:
Comprises correspondence between the Chief Engineer to the Humber Conservancy Board, Stone-Chance Ltd., Crawley, and various building contractors, regarding the operation and maintenance of the Killingholme lighthouses and the associated cottages. Includes specifications for the painting of the lighthouses and for the demolition of the cottages. The cottages which were in a poor state of repair and unoccupied for approximately 2 years were demolished in March 1957. Also includes reports from various organisations and members of the public reporting lights not working.
