The file comprises correspondence, sent (and received) by the Engineer to the Humber Conservancy Board (Arthur Ernest Butterfield), to/from the Chairman of the Maritime Committee, ship’s masters, etc. regarding wrecks (and the recovery of them) at various locations throughout the Humber and River Trent. It includes details regarding the removal of the following wrecks: the lighter 'Trent' near Keadby Bridge on the River Trent; submerged wreckage near Thorngumbald Clough Lighthouse; and the sloop 'Moss Rose' which sank near the No. 9 Anson Gas Buoy.
