Description:
The file comprises of correspondence, sent (and received) by the Engineer to the Humber Conservancy Board (Arthur Ernest Butterfield), to/from the Chairman and members of the Marine Committee, regarding damage to the Barton Lightship by the keel 'Ravensworth' whilst under tow by the steam keel 'Fylde', which was also towing the keel 'Perseverance'. It also includes correspondence regarding the removal of the Barton Lightship, as well as an alteration to the position of the Hessle Sand Gas Float; the Navigable Channel to Goole had altered to run parallel to the Yorkshire Shore.
