Description:: The file comprises letters, sent (and received) by the Engineer to the Humber Conservancy Board (Arthur Ernest Butterfield), to/from the Acetylene Illuminating Company Limited regarding problems with an on-trial Acetylene lit Buoy loaned to the Conservancy by the Acetylene Illuminating Company. There were problems with water ingress into the system, causing the light to go out. There is also correspondence with a Swedish Company who produced modifications to the lighting system. A description (and drawing) of the Buoy and its lighting system has been included in the file.
