Description:

A package (divided into 2 folders) containing papers accumulated in connection with Aire and Calder Navigation Lease No. 39: property situate on the north end of Doyle Street in the town of Goole, Yorkshire. It includes the following:

Deeds (1839–1889):

1. Lease for 99 years (30 December 1839): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to William Richardson. It includes an inset map showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the following representatives of the Navigation: Sir William Mordaunt Milner, Sir John Lowther, Richard Fountayne Wilson, and John Spencer Stanhope.

2. Counterpart of a Lease for 99 years (30 December 1839): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to William Richardson. It includes an inset map showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasee.

3. Assignment of Leasehold (11 December 1871): Robert Briggs and George Henry Duckels (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to Thomas Mason. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and Marmaduke Storr Hodson on behalf of the Aire and Calder Navigation.

4. Mortgage of Leasehold (12 December 1871) for securing £500: Thomas Mason (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to Thomas Waterhouse. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and Marmaduke Storr Hodson on behalf of the Aire and Calder Navigation.

5. Transfer of Mortgage of Leasehold (15 May 1873) for securing £500: Messrs John Waterhouse, Thomas Wetherell and Thomas Mason (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to Messrs William Smith Garlick and George Thompson. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and Marmaduke Storr Hodson on behalf of the Navigation.

6. Assignment of Leasehold (19 April 1880): Messrs William Smith Garlick and George Thompson as Mortgagees of Thomas Mason (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to George Gleadow. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and Marmaduke Storr Hodson on behalf of the Navigation.

7. Surrender of Leasehold (24 June 1889): George Gleadow to Andrew Montagu and others (Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation). The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasee, and Walter Thomas William Spencer Stanhope on behalf of the Navigation.

8. Draft Lease for 99 years (25 June 1889): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to George Gleadow.

9. Counterpart of Lease for 99 years (25 June 1889): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to George Gleadow. It includes a plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been sealed and signed by the aforementioned Leasee.
