Description:

A package containing papers surrendered to the Aire and Calder Navigation on 12 January 1904 by Thomas Edward Fielding. The papers are connected with Leasehold premises (No. 82) situate in South Street in the town of Goole, Yorkshire. The package includes the following:

Deeds (1853–1904):

1. Lease for 99 years (16 May 1853): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to Messrs Robert Bromley, James Foreman and Robert Briggs. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the following representatives of the Navigation: Sir William Mordaunt Milner, John Spencer Stanhope, William Mordaunt Edward Milner, and John George Smyth.

2. Counterpart of Lease for 99 years (16 May 1853): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to Messrs Robert Bromley, James Foreman and Robert Briggs. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasees.

3. Assignment of Leasehold (1 April 1871): Messrs Robert Bromley and Robert Briggs (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to Robert Bromley and others. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties.

4. Conveyance of Leasehold (1 March 1901): Israel Jackson and others to Thomas Edward Fielding. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties.

5. Surrender of Leasehold (12 January 1904): Thomas Edward Fielding to the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation. The Deed has been signed by the aforementioned Leasee, and bears the seal of the Navigation.
