Description:

A package containing papers surrendered to the Aire and Calder Navigation on 28 March 1904 by the Executors of William Thomson deceased. The papers are connected with Leasehold premises (No. 107A) situate between Barge Dock Side and South Street in the town of Goole, Yorkshire. The package includes the following:

Deeds (1856–1904):

1. Lease for 99 years (25 January 1856): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to Robert Bromley. It includes an inset plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasee, and the following representatives of the Navigation: John Spencer Stanhope, William Mordaunt Edward Milner, John George Smyth, and Andrew Montagu.

2. Counterpart of Lease for 99 years (25 January 1856): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to Robert Bromley. It includes an inset plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasee.

3. Assignment of Leasehold (3 July 1872): Robert Bromley (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to William Thomson. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and Marmaduke Storr Hodson on behalf of the Navigation.

4. Mortgage of Leasehold (4 July 1872): William Thomson (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to Robert Bromley. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and Marmaduke Storr Hodson on behalf of the Navigation.

AND by endorsement—Reassignment of Leasehold (17 October 1874): Messrs Robert Bell Bromley, Charles Bromley, and William Green to William Thomson. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and Marmaduke Storr Hodson on behalf of the Navigation.

5. Assent by the representatives to bequest to William Thomson (29 October 1901). The Deed has been signed and sealed by William Thomson and Arthur Parry Fayers.

6. Surrender of Leasehold (28 March 1904): the Executors of William Thomson (Junior) deceased to the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation. The Deed has been signed and sealed by Jane Elizabeth Thomson and Douglas Thomson. It also bears the seal of the Navigation.
