A package containing papers surrendered to the Aire and Calder Navigation on 3 June 1895 by George and Charles Richardson and their Mortgagee. The papers are connected with Leasehold premises (No. 76) situate in Olive Place in the town of Goole, Yorkshire. The package includes the following:
Deeds (1850–1895):
1. Lease for 99 years (5 August 1850): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to Shallum Richardson. It includes an inset plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the following representatives of the Navigation: Sir William Mordaunt Milner, John Spencer Stanhope, William Mordaunt Edward Milner, and John George Smyth.
2. Counterpart of Lease for 99 years (5 August 1850): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to Shallum Richardson. It includes an inset plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasee.
3. Conveyance of Leasehold (7 February 1875): George Richardson (with the consent of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to James Richardson. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and Marmaduke Storr Hodson on behalf of the Navigation.
4. Mortgage of Leasehold (20 March 1877) to secure £800: James Richardson to George Denton. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties.
AND by endorsement—Transfer of Mortgage (14 October 1882): George Denton (with the consent of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to John Jackson. The endorsement has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and Marmaduke Storr Hodson on behalf of the Navigation.
5. Surrender of Leasehold (3 June 1895): Messrs George Richardson and Charles Richardson and their Mortgagees to Walter Thomas William Spencer Stanhope and others (Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation). The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, William Norhard, Daniel Jackson, and John Jackson Tate.
