Description:

A package containing papers surrendered to the Aire and Calder Navigation on 1 October 1906 by Jane Hewitt. The papers are connected with Leasehold premises (Nos. 58, 83, and 84) situate in South Street in the town of Goole, Yorkshire. The package includes the following:

Deeds (1848–1906):

1. Lease No. 58 for 99 years (10 January 1848): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to Robert Duffin. It includes an inset plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasee, and the following representatives of the Navigation: Sir William Mordaunt Milner, John Spencer Stanhope, William Mordaunt Edward Milner, and John George Smyth.

2. Counterpart of Lease No. 58 for 99 years (10 January 1848): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to Robert Duffin. It includes an inset plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasee.

3. Lease No. 83 for 99 years (13 May 1853): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to Robert Duffin. It includes an inset plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the following representatives of the Navigation: Sir William Mordaunt Milner, John Spencer Stanhope, William Mordaunt Edward Milner, and John George Smyth.

4. Counterpart of Lease No. 83 for 99 years (13 May 1853): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to Robert Duffin. It includes an inset plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasee.

5. Lease No. 84 for 99 years (13 May 1853): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to Jane Rowett. It includes an inset plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasee, Sir William Mordaunt Milner, John Spencer Stanhope, William Mordaunt Edward Milner, and John George Smyth.

6. Counterpart of Lease 84 for 99 years (13 May 1853): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to Jane Rowett. It includes an inset plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasee.

7. Surrender of Leasehold (1 October 1906): Jane Hewitt to the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation. The Deed has been signed by the aforementioned Leasee, and Samuel Barraclough on behalf of the Navigation. It also bears the seal of the Navigation.
