Description:

A package containing papers surrendered to the Aire and Calder Navigation on 25 November 1907 by George William Vandon. The papers are connected with Leasehold premises (No. 59) situate at the junction of Cross Street and Vermuyden Terrace in the town of Goole, Yorkshire. The package includes the following:

Deeds (1845–1907):

1. Lease for 99 years (24 September 1845): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to Paul Farnill. It includes an inset plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the following representatives of the Navigation: Sir William Mordaunt Milner, Richard Fountayne Wilson, John Spencer Stanhope, and William Mordaunt Edward Milner.

2. Counterpart of Lease for 99 years (24 September 1845): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to Paul Farnill. It includes an inset plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasee.

3. Assignment of Leasehold (1 April 1862): William Thomas West and Clarissa West to George Vanson. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and Marmaduke Storr Hodson on behalf of the Navigation.

4. Assignment of Leasehold (11 September 1895): Samuel Ibbetson and Alexander Spink to George William Vanson. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and Samuel Barraclough on behalf of the Navigation.

5. Surrender of Leasehold (25 November 1907): George William Vanson to the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation. The Deed has been signed by the aforementioned Leasee, and Samuel Barraclough on behalf of the Navigation. It also bears the seal of the Trustees of the Navigation.
