Description:

A package containing papers surrendered to the Aire and Calder Navigation on 6 April 1911 by Tadcaster Tower Brewery Company Limited. The papers are connected with Leasehold premises (No. 93): the Sailors' Home Inn situate between Doyle Street and Vermuyden Terrace in the town of Goole, Yorkshire. The package includes the following:

Deeds (1854—1911):

1. Lease for 99 years (1 July 1854): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to William Boothman and Alfred Boothman. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Alfred Boothman, and the following representatives of the Navigation: Sir William Mordaunt Milner, John Spencer Stanhope, John George Smyth, and William Mordaunt Edward Milner.

2. Counterpart of Lease for 99 years (1 July 1854): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to William Boothman and Alfred Boothman. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aformentioned Leasees.

3. Mortgage of Leasehold (26 August 1854): William Boothman and Alfred Boothman (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to John Cawood and Robert Bromley. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and Thomas Fisher on behalf of the Navigation.

4. Mortgage of Leasehold (3 May 1855) to secure £150: William Boothman and Alfred Boothman to John Cawood. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and Thomas Fisher on behalf of the Navigation.

5. Assignment of Leasehold (30 October 1855): William Boothman and Alfred Boothman and theit Mortgagees (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to Thomas Turner. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and Thomas Fisher on behalf of the Navigation.

6. Assignment of Leasehold (1 July 1860): Thomas Turner (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to John Davies. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and Marmaduke Storr Hodson on behalf of the Navigation.

7. Assignment of Leasehold (1 August 1877): John Davies to Frances Reeves. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and Marmaduke Storr Hodson on behalf of the Navigation.

8. Mortgage of Reversions and Policies of Assurance (29 January 1891) to secure £75: Charles Brown to the Yorkshire Discount Company Limited. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Mr Brown.

9. Further Charge on Leasehold (25 March 1891) to secure £15: Charles Brown to the Yorkshire Discount Company Limited. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Mr Brown.

10. Mortgage on Leasehold (20 March 1893) to secure £45: Michael Milner and Mary Milner to the Yorkshire Discount Company Limited. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aformentioned Leasees.

AND by endorsement—Further Charge on Leasehold (15 October 1894): Michael Milner and Mary Milner to the Yorkshire Discount Company Limited. The endorsement has been signed and sealed by the aformentioned Leasees.

11. Mortgage of Leasehold (23 August 1893): Mary Easter Davies and Ambler Davies (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to William Rothery and Harvey Hey. The Deed has been signed by the aforementioned Leasees, and Marmaduke Storr Hodson on behalf of the Navigation.

12. Conveyance of Estate and Interest in the proceeds of Sale of Leasehold under the Will of Frances Reeves deceased (13 December 1897): the Reverend John Reeves Brown to Tadcaster Tower Brewery Company Limited. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Reverend.

13. Conveyance of Estate and Interest in the proceeds of Sale of Leasehold under the Will of Frances Reeves deceased (13 December 1897): Elizabeth Botham to Tadcaster Tower Brewery Company Limited. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Mrs Botham.

14. Conveyance of Estate and Interest of Charles Brown in the proceeds of Sale of Leasehold under the Will of Frances Reeves deceased (6 January 1898): the Yorkshire Discount Company Limited to Tadcaster Tower Brewery Company Limited. The Deed bears the common seal of the Yorkshire Discount Company Limited

15. Conveyance of Estate and Interest of Mary Milner in the proceeds of Sale of Leasehold under the Will of Frances Reeves deceased (6 January 1898): the Yorkshire Discount Company Limited to Tadcaster Tower Brewery Company Limited. The Deed has been signed and sealed by Michael Milner and Mary Milner, and bears the common seal of the Yorkshire Discount Company Limited.

16. Assignment of Leasehold (4 June 1898): Ambler Davies, Elizabeth Martha Woodward, and Mary Easter Davies (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to the Tadcaster Tower Brewery Company Limited. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and Samuel Barraclough on behalf of the Navigation. It also bears the seal of the aforementioned Brewing Company.

17. Re-assignment of Mortgage of Leasehold (16 December 1899): William Rothery (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to the Tadcaster Tower Brewery Company Limited. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Mr Rothery, and Samuel Barraclough on behalf of the Navigation. It also bears the seal of the aforementioned Brewing Company.

18. Transfer of Supplemental to Mortgage dated 31 December 1899 (22 January 1906) to secure £500: Tadcaster Tower Brewery Company Limited and Mortgagee to Britannic. The Deed has been signed and sealed by William James Joicey, and Samuel Barraclough on behalf of the Navigation. It also bears the seal of the aforementioned Brewing Company.

19. Reconveyance of Leasehold (9 February 1911): Britannic (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to the Tadcaster Tower Brewery Company Limited. The Deed has been signed and sealed by Samuel Barraclough on behalf of the Navigation. It also bears the seals of the aforementioned Insurance and Brewing Companies.

20. Surrender of Leasehold (6 April 1911): Tadcaster Tower Brewery Company Limited to the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation. The Deed bears the seal of the Trustees of the Navigation and the aforementioned Brewing Company.
