Description:

A memorandum of a meeting held on 18 October 1899 at Manchester between representatives of the ACN and the LYR. The topics covered include the following: the proposed diversion of Grange Road; the plan of a property occupied by the LYR at Goole; the supply of water to the old Engine Shed at Goole; damage caused to vessels by coaling cranes at Goole; the Goole water supply; difficulties at Goole Docks owing to the exceptional pressure of London traffic; the earnings of the last mile of railway into Goole; and arrangements for the operation of the fifty ton crane at Goole.

It also includes an enclosed letter dated 13 November 1899 from J. A. F. Aspinall addressed to T. Marston regarding suggested alterations to the draft minutes made by the author.
