Correspondence, largely between Charles H. Pile (Pile and Company, Steam Ship Owners and Brokers) and William Hamond Bartholomew (Chairman of the Goole Steam Shipping Company), regarding a meeting between Edward Pembroke, Mr E. A. Cohen, and Mr Pile on the matter of the valuation of the shipping company's steamers. Enclosed is a copy of a letter dated 9 January 1905 from John A. F. Aspinall to Mr E. A. Cohen on negotiations prior to the agreement between the shipping and the railway companies. Also discussed is the matter of forwarding plans of the steamers in question to the arbitrator.
