Memoranda by Skipper.

On Sunday 27th January . Whilst coping under , close sail shipped a heavy sea. Managed to righten the best we could left the captain at pumps . With another man when we shipped another sea which took away both men. Nothing could be done to save them as we never saw them again. The Vessel was also greatly damaged , losing boat,sail and gear. We had to be towed in - arrived February 4 1884
