8/12/93 North sea. Charles Chapman, 4th Hand. While attempting to rescue the crew of a Dutch vessel, a heavy sea turned the boat over sending the deceased into the sea. The skipper who was the other occupant of the boat managed to keep inside her, & threw the deceased a life buoy, but he failed to reach it. Chapman sank & was not seen again. Soon after the skipper was picked up by his own smack.
