Official Log. On Saturday last, October 5th about 3.30am my vessel ST Bull Dog laid to in a strong breeze when we saw a flare exhibited & steamed towards it. I found it to be the smack Thomas Leeming of Hull which was dismasted I asked her skipper if they were all right he said yes , but I want towing in when it comes daylight I laid my vessel by until daylight & then went as near as possible & took her tow rope & towed them to St Andrews Dock Hull. Arrived on Sunday afternoon tide.
