21 March 1901 at sea. H Pearman was illtreated by M Kelly. Struck & Bitten.

Official Log. For the assault referred to on page 15 M Kelly , deck hand has been fined 5/- under Regulation 3 for maintaining discipline & for sleeping gross negligence whilst on watch the look out on the 27th a further fine of 5/- has been inflicted upon him under No.6 of the same Regulations. Such fines having been paid to me the Superintendentof the Mercantile Marine Office at Hull 4th April 1901.
