21/1/03 P Morgensen, skipper. Drowned in the surf whilst trying to reach the shore after vessel had stranded. 21/3/03 Thomas Boynton, chief engineer. Died shortly after reaching the shore & about 2 hours after the vessels stranding, presumably due to internal injuries sustained & exhaustion following on same & exposure to wet & cold.

21/1/03 8am. Vessel stranded and abandoned her decks. The steering gear gave way through being struck by a sea and the strong wind and heavy sea drove the vessel onto the shore.
