27/2/06 River Humber. Damage to our stern & 3 or 4 plates bent. We drifted into the New Holland Pier and also collided with the Gt Central Railways Co. Ferry Boats Cleethorpes & Manchester. The fist 2 casualties were due to the boatswain ( who was in charge of the watch in the room of the 2nd hand who was incapacitated through drink ) neglecting to call me, and the last named, arose through an error of judgement on my part not ringing our engines astern soon enough.
