7.30pm 6/10/05 North Sea. C Dean, skipper. Supposed lost with vessels boat whilst proceeding alone in her to a barque in distress.
Certificates.
I Certify that after inquiry I am satisfied the supposed loss of Skipper C Dean was in accordance with the circumstances recorded on page 15 hereof.
Record of Casualty.
6/10/05 North Sea. Lost our boat & 1 pair of oars. Supposed swamped or capsized by the seas under circumstances above referred to.
Official Log.
Boatswain reported asleep on watch, July 13th , 15th, 17th & 19th. I caught him asleep myself on the 21st July. Myself & the chief on the 23rd and again on the 25th. For the offences referred to above the boatswain William Sayers has been fined five shillings under regulation 6 for maintaining discipline & owing to his otherwise good behaviour, wishing to deal leniently with him. I have treated the whole of the charges above named as one offence. The fine inflicted has been paid to the Superintendent of mercantile marine office this 6th August 1905.
