On February 17th while lying in Aberdeen getting our boiler repaired our boatswain W Ferrand was suddenly taken ill, and I had him examined by a doctor who stated that he suffered from influenza which might turn into Pneumonia and advised him being sent home, a ticket for Hull was then got for him & he was sent home by the next train.
