On Tuesday 6 December 1887. Spoke the Grimsby smack Severn No. 865 about 120 miles from Spurn. Lights bearing about WSW and took her in tow being disabled by having her mast head gone. The skipper asked us for help & we rendered him all the assistance we could at the risk of losing our market & spoiling of our voyage of fish which we had on board.
