16th December 1889 8.30am. Vessel struck heavily against something unknown ( supposed a floating wreck ) & commenced to fill fast. We used our pump out , it gained on us rapidly and about half an hour after we were compelled to take to our boat - 15 minutes after that the SS Brightling sea of Harwich picked us up & shortly afterwards landed us at North Flamboro.
