This is to certify that J Sheridan did on the 18th day of this month October. Did cheek and insult me the skipper, which is not lawful I then took a bit of line and ? the offender in a just manner. Afterwards he refused to do anymore work he went down the hole and stayed there until 19th October. I went to him and asked him if he was going to start work to which he again refused.
This is to certify that J Sheridan did turn to work on the 19th of october on reduced wages. owing to his incompetency Sheridans wages were reduced 10 11/- per week for the whole voyage.
