2nd January 1889 12.50am Humber Dock at Hull. William Barrott cook drowned. Deceased went down to the dock at the time named to join the vessel, which was moored in the middle of the dock. Going to the edge of the quay to hail those onboard he placed his foot accidentally into a hole which had been knocked into the stone work, and overbalancing himself he fell into the dock and was drowned.
