David Newbury cook. 2nd July 1889 North Sea. Whilst opening a butter tin he cut his 3rd finger on left hand, with the tin. Which resulted in blood poisoning & necessitated his being transferred to the Mission Ship Queen Victoria. Where he remained until the 22nd . His finger was amputated on the 16th.
